How Fiverr's buyer fee works
Fiverr's help center says: "The standard service fee is 5.5% of your purchase amount, and we add a $3.50 fee to orders under $200. Every payment you make carries its own service fee, so if your order involves multiple transactions, such as an extra or a tip, each one has a separate fee." (Fiverr Help Center: Paying for orders, extras, or custom offers, checked October 8, 2026.) Fiverr's payment terms date this structure to September 2025. Many older articles still quote $2.50 or $3.00 fees, which are out of date.

Three ways to pay less in fees
- Add extras at checkout, not later. Extras bought on an open order are a new payment with a new fee.
- Bundle small jobs. Two $50 orders cost $12.50 in fees; one $100 custom offer costs $9.00.
- Watch the $196.70 to $199.99 zone. Orders in that range cost more in total than a $200 order. Ask the seller for a $200 custom offer with one more revision instead.

Because the $3.50 small-order fee stops at $200. A $199 order costs $213.45 in total; a $200 order costs $211.00. Any order from about $196.70 to $199.99 costs more than a $200 order.
How much will I pay for a $50 gig on Fiverr?
$56.25: the $50 gig, plus a 5.5% fee ($2.75), plus the $3.50 small-order fee.
