Shopify Store Setup on Fiverr (2026): What It Costs, What's Included and How to Hire Safely
Short answer: a basic Shopify store setup on Fiverr usually starts around $90 to $150, and a properly finished store with theme work, products and SEO basics lands closer to $200 to $500. On top of that you pay Fiverr's buyer fee and your own Shopify plan. This guide shows the real 2026 numbers, what a good package must include, and the traps that turn a $60 gig into a $500 bill.

How we researched this: We did not buy a store setup for this guide. We compared an independent September 2026 price check of live Fiverr Shopify gigs, a 2026 hiring cost breakdown across Fiverr, Upwork and agencies, Shopify's official pricing page, Fiverr's AI store builder page and Fiverr's help pages on fees. Each number names its source.
How much does Shopify store setup cost on Fiverr in 2026?
| Source (date) | What it shows | Number |
|---|---|---|
| GigBuyerGuide (Sept 29, 2026) | Starting price of well-reviewed Shopify build gigs on Fiverr | Median $120 · middle half $90 to $150 · median delivery 4 days |
| GigBuyerGuide (Sept 29, 2026) | Fiverr Pro Shopify build gigs | Median starting price $195 |
| Memvers (2026) | Store setup + theme customization, by platform | Fiverr $200 to $500 · Upwork $500 to $1,500 · agency $1,500 to $5,000 |
The two sources fit together. The starting package is often $90 to $150, but it's usually a stripped-down version: a few pages and a handful of products. The finished store most owners want, with theme customization and their whole catalog, sits in the $200 to $500 range on Fiverr.
Your real checkout total
Fiverr adds 5.5% to every order, plus $3.50 on orders under $200:
| Package price | Fiverr fee | You pay (before tax) |
|---|---|---|
| $120 (median starting gig) | $10.10 | $130.10 |
| $195 (median Pro starting gig) | $14.22 | $209.22 |
| $200 | $11.00 | $211.00 |
| $300 | $16.50 | $316.50 |
| $500 | $27.50 | $527.50 |
Notice the odd result: a $195 order costs less in fees once you cross $200. Orders between about $196.70 and $199.99 cost more in total than a $200 order. Check any number in our Fiverr fee calculator.
Don't forget Shopify's own costs
The freelancer builds the store. Shopify charges you to run it. These are Shopify's US prices from its official pricing page (checked October 2026):
| Shopify plan | Paid monthly | Paid yearly | Online card rate (Shopify Payments) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $39/mo | $29/mo | 2.9% + 30¢ |
| Grow | $105/mo | $79/mo | 2.7% + 30¢ |
| Advanced | $399/mo | $299/mo | 2.5% + 30¢ |
| Plus | From $2,300/mo | 2.25% + 30¢ | |
Shopify currently offers a 3-day free trial, then $1 a month for the first 3 months on most plans. If you use a third-party payment provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own transaction fee (2% on Basic). Paid themes and apps are extra too. Memvers estimates paid themes at about $80 to $350 one-time, and warns that apps often add $50 to $150 a month.
Budget for three things, not one: the setup gig, the Shopify plan, and your apps. A $150 store that needs $120 a month in apps isn't a $150 store.
What a good Shopify setup package should include
Gig titles all sound the same. The package details are what you're buying. Use this checklist when you compare sellers:
| Item | Starter package (about $90 to $150) | Full setup (about $200 to $500) |
|---|---|---|
| Theme | Free theme, light branding | Free or paid theme, customized sections |
| Pages | 3 to 5 | 5 to 10, including About, FAQ, Contact, policies |
| Product uploads | Around 10 | 25 to 50+, with variants and collections |
| Payments and shipping | Sometimes | Should be included |
| Basic SEO (titles, meta descriptions) | Rarely | Usually |
| Email signup and abandoned cart | No | Often |
| Speed and mobile check | No | Ask for it |
| Revisions and post-launch support | 1 to 2 revisions | Several revisions, plus a short support window |
The tiers above are a buying checklist built from the package contents we saw described across 2026 price guides. They are not a Fiverr standard. Always read the exact package list on the gig page.
How to hire a Shopify expert on Fiverr: 7 steps
1. Write down your scope first
List your products (how many, how many variants), the pages you need, where you ship, and the payment methods you want. A seller can only quote what you describe.
2. Decide: DIY, AI builder, or freelancer
Fiverr runs a free AI Shopify store builder that creates a starter store tailored to a niche and syncs it to your Shopify account. Fiverr says it loads 10 products for your chosen niche and gives you a setup guide. Your Shopify subscription still applies. It's a fair option if you want a quick base and plan to polish it yourself, or hand it to a freelancer later. Try the Fiverr AI store builder (Sponsored · Fiverr affiliate link).
3. Shortlist 3 sellers
- Open live stores from their portfolio on your phone. Most shopping happens on mobile.
- Run one of those stores through Google PageSpeed Insights. Slow portfolio stores are a warning.
- Read reviews from buyers with stores like yours, and check that recent reviews are strong.
4. Ask for a custom offer with everything written in
Ask for one total price that includes theme, pages, product uploads, payments, shipping and basic SEO. Memvers flags a common trap: a $50 to $100 "setup" gig with product uploads, SEO and theme edits all sold as extras. A clear $300 offer often beats a $60 base plus $400 in add-ons.
5. Give access the safe way
Never share your Shopify owner password. Every Shopify plan lets you invite third-party collaborators, so the seller can request access with only the permissions they need. Remove that access when the job is done.
6. Keep ownership in your name
The store, the domain, any paid theme license and every app subscription should sit in your Shopify account and be billed to you. If a seller buys a theme "for you", ask for the license in your name.
7. Test before you accept delivery
Fiverr completes an order automatically three days after delivery if you don't respond. Use that time: place a test order, check mobile layouts, check shipping rates for two locations, and confirm your policy pages are live.
Red flags in Shopify gigs
- "Winning products guaranteed" or income promises. No one can promise sales. Treat profit screenshots as marketing.
- Asking for your owner login or card details. Collaborator access is enough.
- Pressure to move payment off Fiverr. You'd lose Fiverr's payment protection and Resolution Center.
- Nulled or "free premium" themes. Unlicensed themes can break, miss updates or carry malicious code.
- No portfolio stores you can visit. Screenshots are easy to fake. Live stores aren't.
Fiverr, Fiverr Pro, Upwork or an agency?
| Option | Typical setup cost (2026) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Fiverr (Level 2 / Top Rated) | $200 to $500 for a full setup (Memvers); starter gigs from about $90 to $150 (GigBuyerGuide) | Standard stores on a ready-made theme |
| Fiverr Pro | Starting gigs around $195 median (GigBuyerGuide) | Bigger catalogs, brand launches, buyers who want vetting |
| Upwork | $500 to $1,500 (Memvers) | Custom scopes and longer back-and-forth |
| Agency | $1,500 to $5,000+ (Memvers) | Custom themes, integrations, strategy |
Fiverr Pro adds a money-back guarantee on eligible orders, claimable within 14 days of completion and refunded as Pro balance. See our Fiverr Pro review for the details, and our Fiverr vs Upwork guide for a side-by-side on fees and protection.

A first-year budget example
Here's a realistic first year for a small store on the Basic plan paid yearly, using the numbers above. Your numbers will differ:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Full setup gig ($300 + Fiverr fee) | $316.50 |
| Shopify Basic, yearly billing ($29 × 12) | $348 |
| Paid theme (optional) | About $80 to $350 |
| Apps (reviews, email, upsells) | Varies; many stores spend $0 to $150 a month |
| Logo (if you don't have one yet) | See our logo designer guide |
Shopify's introductory $1-a-month offer can lower year-one cost. Card processing fees come out of each sale.

FAQ
How much does it cost to set up a Shopify store on Fiverr?
Well-reviewed Shopify build gigs started at a median of $120 in September 2026, with most between $90 and $150. A complete setup with theme work, product uploads and basic SEO usually costs about $200 to $500, plus Fiverr's 5.5% fee and $3.50 on orders under $200.
Does the Fiverr price include my Shopify subscription?
No. You pay Shopify directly. In October 2026 the Basic plan costs $39 a month, or $29 a month billed yearly, and paid themes and apps are extra.
Is it safe to give a Fiverr seller access to my Shopify store?
Yes, if you use collaborator access instead of sharing your owner password. Every Shopify plan lets you invite third-party collaborators with limited permissions, and you can remove them after the job.
How long does a Shopify setup take on Fiverr?
The median delivery time for well-reviewed Shopify build gigs was 4 days in September 2026. Bigger catalogs, custom sections and revisions take longer.
Is Fiverr's AI Shopify store builder really free?
Fiverr says the builder is free to use and loads 10 products for your chosen niche. Running the live store still needs a paid Shopify plan.
Should I hire on Fiverr or an agency for Shopify?
Fiverr suits standard stores on a ready-made theme. For custom apps, ERP integrations or Shopify Plus checkout work, a senior Fiverr Pro developer or a specialist agency is the safer choice.
